Bunny Food

I really wish I was a creative person.  I mean I am, to an extent, but I can't come up with these super cute ideas.  I love people who do, because then I get to steal their creative genius via Pinterest and make it my own.  I will say I typically add my own twist on things, and I hate following a recipe to a T.  With that said, here's another totally adorable Easter gift/treat that I found on Pinterest that I knew I'd have to make.  Max and my niece will LOVE these, I just know it :)

Instead of M&M's(which is what the original Pin had ) I went with some jelly beans.  The kids will get enough chocolate on Easter from Neena & Pap Pap, I don't think they need more from me!

Happy EASTER weekend!

For My Peeps!

Max's Easter party was today so I had to make treats for all his little buddies.  I saw this idea on Pinterest a while ago and knew I had to make it.  So make it I did.  They turned out so cute and I'm sure the kids will love 'em.  The parents too, because there's nothing like an ooey, gooey, messy treat for 2 year olds.  They'll thank me someday for my cute little treats.  Maybe not today though.  Especially after the blue sugar from the peepers gets on something important.  The couch, the cat, Mom's new shirt?  Whatev, I'm stoked about them.

"For My Favorite Peeps!
Assemble s'more, microwave 10-15 sec until nice n' gooey!
HAPPY EASTER!!!"

Is that cute or what?!  I would have loved to package these a little nicer, but I was on a time crunch.  I didn't even realize until this morning there would be an Easter party for makin' treats.  It would have been nice to have a nice cellophane bag and some Easter grass in the bottom.  But they're cute all the same and I don't think the kids care about the packaging or Easter grass.  Maybe the parents WILL thank me for no Easter grass, now that crap is a pain.  Way more of a pain than a bright blue stain on your couch!

HAPPY EASTER to my FAVORITE PEEPS :)

Bathroom Redo

We redid the bathroom this weekend.
So obviously it wasn't a total overhaul, but we prettied it up quiiiiiite a bit!
So I didn't get to any of my To-Do crafts or recipes.  But I did something a whole lot cooler.

Before:

It was just kinda ho-hum.  Other than putting in new floor(the old was carpet.  yes, carpet.) and put in a new sink and vanity(the old sink was PINK.  yes, pink.).  Nothing else has really been done and I just always felt like it looked incomplete.  So this weekend we finally did something with it and I am in LOVE with how it turned out.  So bright & fresh!

After:

The pictures don't do it justice.  It's so much "cleaner" and I don't mean that in a dirty v.s. clean sense.  It's freshened up, I think painting the mirror and stuff really changed the look too.  Oh, and the white curtain is just so nice & breezy too.  It's not totally complete, we're still on the search for more decor and wall stuff, but it's pretty much all the way there.

Hope everyone had a productive weekend!

Inspiration slash To Do

Lately it's almost as if I've had SO many ideas that my brain can't process how to even do them.
I have lists, sticky notes and mental notes on projects, recipes & ideas.
Not one has been completed.  My brain can no longer function.
So here are a few of the things I really want to do.
And WILL do. (hopefully some this weekend!)

I have the mason jars for this project AND the paint.  Perfect to corral all my pens that keep disappearing.
DSLR camera strap cover -  again, I have the perfect fabric for this!
Make a springtime wreath similar to this.  I love this.
Texas loaded fries w/ ranch - from skinnytaste - these look SO amazing.

Chicken macaroni casserole - I pinned this forever ago and have been thinking about it ever since - I need to just MAKE it already!
Another project for my mason jar collection.  Perfect for flowers beside the kitchen sink..

Dinosaur planter with air plant and personalized bottlecap. College dorm or kids room decoration.
This is something I need to buy - for Max for his BDay, a dinosaur planter.  I am obsessed with this Etsy shop, they have an elephant planter that I need on my desk at work.

Well I just got myself VERY excited about all of my up & coming projects.  I guess all it takes sometimes is just another list.  Now that I've put all these ideas out there though, I will be way more determined to get them done!  Stay tuned............
Funny Somewhat Topical Ecard: Honey, can you pick up Pizza? I've been busy pinning nutritious recipes for our family all day.
Too appropriate.   :)

T-shirt Bracelets

I pinned this project forever ago and am just now getting around to it.  I was on a t-shirt upcycling craze over the weekend, not only did I make these crazy cute bags, but I made these cute bracelets too!  Why I didn't think of t-shirt bracelets before now is beyond me.

I started getting crazy, made a bunch all different variations.  Some I did grey and navy blue, but most just grey.  I did some tight braids, some loose, some with braids & regular strips around the braid.  I was going bananas over these bracelets.  I kinda love 'em too.  They're not only cute, but comfy.  I hate wearing bracelets to work because I type all day long and wearing a bracelet just doesn't jive.  So I'm thinking these might work.  If only I could find a way to close them up so it looks nicer.  I just kind of knotted these and it's a little bulky and not super neat.  But for now they'll do!
see the knot closures??
i've been searching for ways to eliminate this and i've found a few ways,
i'll post an update when i find the perfect solution.

More to come at a later date, I have tons of t-shirt scrap leftover from my DIY bags!

DIY t-shirt bags

I pinned this a while ago and absolutely LOVED the idea of it.  Not just for produce either(which was what the Pin labeled these as), I think it's such a cute bag, period.  So I made some.  Guess what?  I looooove them.  I want to make more.  I actually considered going and buying some t-shirts in colors I liked just for these bags.  I didn't do that though, I realized that would be a little crazy.
Take an old t shirt, flip it inside out and cut out this shape(kind of like a 'U'), as big or little as you'd like.  Go from the bottom up, that way if you want to keep the hem that's around the waist of the shirt you can.  Some I kept on, some I cut off.  Next, stitch around the three sides to make your bag shape.  Next step is your holes.  I traced mine with pen first.  Make sure you do your handle first, then a few inches down start your holes.  I staggered the slits too by the way!
Now it's time to snip, snip, snip.  Snip all your slits!
When you're done snipping stretch your bag out so the holes form.  I washed mine after I was done so they would curl just a bit and also to get all of the fabric crumbs off.
Here I am modeling a bag of bananas, HA!
Another larger one, this one is more of a tote size.
All of the colors and sizes I made.  I love the ones that happen to have some t-shirt logo still on them, gives it some extra coolness.

Let Him Sleep.....

"Let Him Sleep for when he wakes he will Move Mountains"

The first time I saw this quote on Pinterest, I loved it.  I thought it was the sweetest thing ever.  I knew I had to do something with this for Max.  So time went by, I did nothing, did lots of other things, then finally decided to do something.  Do something with the quote that is.  I hope you followed that last statement, because I barely did.  Anyway.  That exact day that I decided to do something, I got an email from Emily Jones Design. The email was a tutorial about how to embroider.  Ummm, perfect, it was fate!  So off to AC Moore I go, with an amazing vision in my head.  Well, as always, I get there and can't seem to find anything that is in my "vision".  So I continue to search for things that are kind of like my vision.  I came home with cross stitch fabric(I don't even know if that's what it's called..), a needle that definitely wasn't for cross stitch OR embroidery, an embroidery ring and a ton of navy blue cross stitch thread.  So I used what I got and made it work.  It turned out sooo cute, I'm totally smitten with the finished product.  I went and bought a cheap frame from Target, and that finished it off.  Now just to get it hung on Max's wall.  That will probably take us another 2 weeks.  Things usually end up taking 3-5 days too long around here.  Such is life...

I definitely want to do more projects involving embroidery, I really really liked doing it.  I would definitely have to play with differents though.  This funky, not lined up, weirdly spaced font works well for this particular project, but wouldn't for all.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Valentine's Day Preview

So today I decided to start on Max's Valentine's Day gifts for his friends and teachers.  I have a girl's night planned for Monday night(dinner and going to see 'The Vow', woohoooo), so I wanted to have this stuff done since all the Valentine's festivities are Tuesday.

For his teachers I got them each a red mug filled with goodies - a dinosaur Valentine(he's obsessed with them at the moment), biscotti, hershey's special dark bar, dark chocolate truffle,  dark chocolate godiva square and a small pot of hand lotion.
Added the pink tissue paper too, I looove a red & pink combo!

Now for the kiddies - each treat bag was filled with a white chocolate dipped rice krispie treat and pretzel buttons.  Oh, and of course his little dinosaur Valentine cards.

I thought they turned out pretty cute and I'm happy to be giving out something other than just plain candy!

The rest of my Saturday evening consisted of sheet forts, cartoons, and playing shoe dress up.  These are the moments I live for...
I'm a master fort maker from WAY back.
 He loved it!!
Enjoying a little tube time before bed.
 Such a ham!
What?!  Boots and crocs don't go together?  Who knew.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend!!!
