yeah, i love people with these cars who think that they're featured in the fast & furious - you're not, so slow down before you kill myself & my kid.  thanks.

you don't watch sons of anarchy?  this is why you should.  jax teller is the man.

i love this - the words & pictures make me smile.

yeah, a lot of parents missed the memo on this.  i'd rather give max memories than any materialistic thing.  that's what i remember from my childhood - not my toys, my memories!

everytime josh says something like "you're crazy" or "you're impatient" - well he knew all of that before we got married, so who's the crazy one now?! :)

this too shall pass.

i love this.

i think the most important thing in life is to be happy.

what's the point of living a life not being happy?

sure, i have days where i'm not 100% happy, but that is also life.

lately i've been having some not-so-happy days.

not for any reason in particular.

i've just been stressed, overwhelmed and not my normal happy self.

i don't let it ruin me, i don't let others "feel" it.

i just deal with it and move on with my day/week/life.

it'll go away - this too shall pass.

i get in ruts every so often, and right now just so happens to be a rut.

it's not fun, it's definitely not my favorite.

but i love my life, i'm very very very blessed.

there's no reason to be unhappy.

yet i am, and i don't know why. (sigh)

again, it's a rut, these ruts i've always dealt with.

so that's why i know - this too shall pass.

in the meantime i keep looking at the above quote & smiling from ear to ear.

maybe this is the end of my rut.

happy tuesday!

A Tribute(no pun intended) to...

I'm pretty darn excited to see Hunger Games tomorrow night.
Not excited enough to go tonight at midnight - I don't think anything excites me THAT much.
Maybe even more excited than Twilight.  Maybe.
That's saying a lot.  I'm a total Twi-hard.
So here's a tribute to the arrival of The Hunger Games.
(Don't even act like you're not as excited as me.)

Funny Movies Ecard: Let's kick off spring by sitting in a dark theater watching teenagers murder each other.
Funny Friendship Ecard: You're the friend I'd feel the worst about killing in a post-apocalyptic death match for food.
Funny Movies Ecard: May you not be slaughtered by teenagers while fighting for a good seat at The Hunger Games.
Funny Birthday Ecard: Congratulations on not being remotely young enough to be picked for the Hunger Games.
Funny Movies Ecard: The closest I'll get to winning the Hunger Games is when I spot the last donut in the office kitchen.

Happy Hunger Gaming!!!

Let Him Sleep.....

"Let Him Sleep for when he wakes he will Move Mountains"

The first time I saw this quote on Pinterest, I loved it.  I thought it was the sweetest thing ever.  I knew I had to do something with this for Max.  So time went by, I did nothing, did lots of other things, then finally decided to do something.  Do something with the quote that is.  I hope you followed that last statement, because I barely did.  Anyway.  That exact day that I decided to do something, I got an email from Emily Jones Design. The email was a tutorial about how to embroider.  Ummm, perfect, it was fate!  So off to AC Moore I go, with an amazing vision in my head.  Well, as always, I get there and can't seem to find anything that is in my "vision".  So I continue to search for things that are kind of like my vision.  I came home with cross stitch fabric(I don't even know if that's what it's called..), a needle that definitely wasn't for cross stitch OR embroidery, an embroidery ring and a ton of navy blue cross stitch thread.  So I used what I got and made it work.  It turned out sooo cute, I'm totally smitten with the finished product.  I went and bought a cheap frame from Target, and that finished it off.  Now just to get it hung on Max's wall.  That will probably take us another 2 weeks.  Things usually end up taking 3-5 days too long around here.  Such is life...

I definitely want to do more projects involving embroidery, I really really liked doing it.  I would definitely have to play with differents though.  This funky, not lined up, weirdly spaced font works well for this particular project, but wouldn't for all.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Something To Live By...

I live by this quote.  Not just because it gives me an excuse for all of the above, but because it's true.  I could easily have the cleanest house on the block, with no messy rooms, no laundry buildups, no sticky kitchen floors.  But I don't.  I have sticky floors, a messy kitchen(and living room, and bedroom..), laundry piles, dirty ovens and one of the happiest little boys I know.  I'm okay with that.  If I spent my spare time cleaning my house I would miss out on so much.  I would miss out on Max saying dinosaur for the first time.  I would miss the kisses, horsey rides, funny faces and boo boo's that I have to make all better.  I'll take a messy house any day of the week.  Now, my house isn't dirty, we aren't living in filth people.  But I don't have a clutter free house, our living room is stacked with toys, my bedroom floor is filled with clothes(clean!).  My kitchen table doesn't host a perfectly manicured centerpiece, it holds drawings brought home from daycare and day old raisins.  I do envy people who have beautiful homes with perfect decor, but that's not us.  I think of my home as ecclectic.  A jumble of things that we found on our journey.  A painting from Cape May, dutch wooden shoes from an antique shop, a handmade broom from British Columbia.  These are the things that make our house a home.  Not a chandelier, not a spotless oven or perfectly manicured lawn.  We have each other, memories of the hilarious times we've had, and lots of tchotchkes we've collected along our way.  So yes, I've got sticky floors, messy kitchens, laundry piles and dirty ovens.  But I've also got a happy kid, and that's what matters most.

Here is Max this morning with bread crumbs surrounding his feet and a pile of clean diapers behind him that Momma has yet to stuff.  THESE are the moments I live for, not cleaning my bathroom floor.  So it all boils down to this.  We've all felt this way I'm sure, that the house needs cleaned, the laundry needs done and dinner needs cooked.  It doesn't always happen, and sometimes you feel guilty about it.  Guilt that the house is a mess, your child has had chef boyardee ravioli for dinner again and you haven't showered all day.  I read this quote and the guilt melted away because like I've already said, it's true.

Here's to messy home & Happy Kids(& Mommas!!),
