i won the lottery!

in my dreams i won the lottery.
in real life i won nada.
but i do dream about winning the lottery.
quite a bit actually, but winning would require actually playing.
and that i don't.
but i'll still dream.

10 things you would do/buy if you won the lottery --

1.  buy a house in cape may, nj.  one of the old, amazing houses that are perched on tree lined streets.  oh how we love those houses.

2.  an old farm house as our main home.  i dream of these.

3.  a new car.  actually, a new suv.  i'm not a girl who wants a corvette, ferrari, or any of those kinds of things.  i'd gladly take this

 or this

yes, i'd love a van.  and no, i have no clue why.

4.  a new wardrobe - again, nothin' fancy, just a shopping spree and be able to buy whatever i like!

5.  camera equipment and a class to learn how to use it all.

6.  a vacation somewhere amazing and tropical for me & my entire family.

7.  a european vacation for me, max & josh.  and i mean all over.  italy, greece, france, germany, wherever the wind takes us.

8.  donate - i'd donate a lot of it to animal, children's and cancer research charities.

9.  three horses, and a barn to keep them in.  one for max, one for my mom, and one for my mother in law.

10.  whatever else i feel like buying at the time.  new computer?  a pool?  a treadmill?  probably just some random stuff.

happy tuesday.

tuesday ten - the wish list.

oh come on, we all have a wish list of things we'd LOVE to have.  but probably never will.
at least that's kinda how my wish list goes anyway.

Mom2MemphisandRuby

linkin' up at eloping stethoscope!

okay, so here goes nothing........  I WISH:

old farm house.  nothing huge, nothing new.  just an old farm house.  preferably with a front porch.  if you threw in a horse and some chickens let's just say i wouldn't be upset.

to go on a trip to bora bora - for like a month.  in one of these cute huts.

a kitchenaid mixer.  i've wanted one of these for so long.  this color would be perfection.

i've wanted these for so long too.  i just can't muster up the strength to spend this much on a pair of shades.  although my urge to own them is slowly taking over.

this kitchen.  or one like it.  as long as it's huge, has an island, is mismatchy and cozy i'm fine with it!

for this to be the view from my back door.
and this to be the view out the front.
they don't really even match...  but basically i want to live on a backroad with nothing around me but trees, fields & fresh air.

her wardrobe.  love.

a cottage on the beach.  i don't want a mansion, just a cozy little beachy house that overlooks the ocean.

a pool.  especially after seeing how much max enjoyed swimming & water play on vacation.  plus, who doesn't want to loung on a raft in gorgeous water when it's hot?

a maid.  i hate cleaning.  i'm so over it.  the house is dirty the second i'm done, so what's the point?  i mean trust me, i can't stand messes & dirt, but cleaning is my least favorite thing ever.  and laundry?  don't even get me started....

happy tuesdayyyyyyyy!

Tuesday 10 - the 90's

Ohhhh this is going to be SO much fun for me.

I'm a 90's kid, and I have a LOT of favorites from that time period.

Let's have some fun.........

Mom2MemphisandRuby

Top Ten 90's Favs ---

1.  Beverly Hills, 90210

I have seen every single episode - more than once.  Pre-Max I would come home from work and watch 2 hours of repeats on Soap Net every.single.day.  I kinda wish I still could too...

2.  TGIF

I wish Max would have grown up with this kind of t.v. - innocent, funny and let's face it, good entertainment.

3.  Boyz II Men

Gotta love Boyz II Men!!

4.  Pogs

I had a whole slew of these crazy things.

5.  Clueless

Not only did I see the movie a gazillion times, BUT I had the soundtrack and listened to that thing over and over and over again.  I still watch it when it's one - WHATever.

6.  Scrunchies

I'm not even sure my hair was long enough to actually wear a scrunchie, but you know I sported one on my wrist every day!

7.  Starter Jackets

I had a Charlotte Hornets Starter jacket and I thought I was just way too cool for school.

8.  Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (and the theme song of course!!)

"In West Philadelphia born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days..."

9.  Goosebumps books by R.L. Stine

I loooooooooved these books!  I loved reading back in the day just as much as I do now, and these were my go-to reads.

10.  Last, but certainly not least...

Troll dolls!

Oh, how I loved these cute little stinkers.  I had a BUNCH.  Not just the pencil
top ones either.  I had a sheet set, jewel belly trolls, a big troll stuffed doll, and of course
countless "normal" trolls.  Including the vampire/bat troll.

Gotta LOVE the 90's - I definitely do!

Tuesday 10 - Books

It's Tuesday, which means it's time to link up with Lena!!  This week we're doing our ten favorite books.  This is going to be torture for me, I love reading, I love books, and choosing only ten seems impossible.  But here goes nothin'.

Mom2MemphisandRuby

Ten Favorite Books:
(in no particular order)

1.  The Twilight Series - Stephenie Meyer

2.  The Hunger Games Series - Suzanne Collins

3.  Belinda - Anne Rice writing as Anne Rampling

4.  Confessions of a Shopaholic Series - Sophie Kinsella

5.  To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee

6.  Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen

7.  The Glass Castle - Jeannette Walls

8.  The Lucky One - Nicholas Sparks
(one of my all time favorite authors, i could have easily compiled a
list of my top 10 for him alone, but i narrowed it down to just two)

9.  The Guardian - Nicholas Sparks

10.  Alexander Hickory - Emily Kieson

Please, please, please, just go get one or two of these and read them if you haven't already.  They're all so good!  I will say though, the only book I've ever read more than once in my life is To Kill A Mockingbird and I'd reread that a hundred more times.

Happy Tuesday!!!

Tuesday 10 - My Soundtrack

Mom2MemphisandRuby

Tuesday 10 - My Life's Soundtrack
I love music, soooso much.
Here are ten songs that have been/are a major part of my life in no specific order.

1.  Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon
My Dad & I used to listen to this song on our record player when I was little, and I loved it, still do.  But more than that I love the memory.  Sitting in our dining room listening to records with my Dad is one of my best childhood memories.  Probably the reason I love music, classic rock in particular so much.
2.  Black Velvet - Allanah Myles
I have a very clear memory of my Mom & Aunt singing this song in my Aunt's van on our way to the beach when I was little.  It's stuck with me and been one of my favs ever since.
3.  Into the Mystic - Van Morrison
This the song for our "first dance" at our wedding.  When we first started dating we listening to Van Morrison a lot.
4.  I'll Stand By You - The Pretenders
This is the song I danced to with my Dad at my wedding.  The lyrics fit us perfectly.
5.  Heard it in a Love Song - Marshall Tucker Band
Me and my girlfriend made a career(not a paying one) of going to this local dive bar.  Every single time I entered those doors, I ran to the juke box and this is the first song I played.
6.  Baby Blue - DMB
Reminds me of Max, my "baby blue".  The lyrics really are beautiful.
7.  Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley
I love this song.  For no specific reason other than it moves me.
8.  Sara - Fleetwood Mac
I've loved this song since I was little.  Everytime I hear it it takes me back to all the amazing memories I've had as a child, teen, and now as an adult.
9.  Crazy Love - Van Morrison
This is the song I walked down the aisle to.  Again, we listening to Van Morrison a lot.  This was our song, we danced the night away in a local dive bar(not the same one as above) with this song playing on the juke box, swearing one day we'd get married to it(and we did!)
10.  Spirit in the Night - Bruce Springsteen
This is "my" song.  I love it.  It makes me think of summers and being young and stupid.  Which I definitely was at one point.

There's my life - summed up in songs...
